We conduct research on breeding sweet potato and rapeseed varieties, and develop bio-chemical materials using agricultural byproducts in response to contemporary demands including carbon neutrality, climate change, and consumer needs.
  • Develop sweet potato varieties to satisfy both consumers and producers
    • Sweet in taste and soft in texture, sweet potato Sodammi
    • Resistant to major diseases such as Fusarium wilt and drought tolerant with cultivation stability, sweet potato Hopungmi
  • Distribute rapeseed varieties and quality management for production of premium cooking oil
    • Development and distribution of Yuryeo, a rapeseed variety to produce high-quality cooking oil made up of 74% in oleic acid
    • Policy to establish a quality management system for rapeseed oil
  • Develop bio-chemical materials using biomass for carbon neutrality
    • Optimized production of high-concentration fermented sugar from barley straw and improvement of succinic acid production efficiency
      • Optimal saccharification rate of pretreated barley straw: 93.3% increase, fermentation rate of succinic acid(77.7g/L) : 24% increase
