The first syllable ‘sik’ of 'Siknyang,' the Korean word for ‘food,’ and 'nyang', abbreviated from ‘nya-ong,’
onomatopoeia of the sound a cat makes, have been combined to created the name 'Siknyangi'.
Born of the rice grown by Siknyangi, Ssalnyangi means ‘rice cat,’ and has ears marked with traces of rice embryo
